I want to start homeschooling QUICK START checklist
By Tali Lindberg
There are a ton of resources out there and it can seem absolutely overwhelming. Just ignore most of them in the beginning.
Please don’t feel like you have to have everything figured out right from the beginning. As you try things, your child will give you feedback. You’ll know what works and doesn’t work. And because you’re in control, you have the authority to make changes and pivot as needed.
Take care of the three steps below and just start. You don’t have to get it perfect. Just get it going. You’ll figure out the rest as you go.
-

Find out what style of homeschooling you would like to pursue

In the beginning, don’t overthink which subjects to teach or how to teach them. There will be a transition period for both you and your child when you first begin.
Take a breath and explore a little. Go on many field trips - to the zoo, to the museums, to the park, even to the grocery stores, the bank, etc.
Talk to your child a lot! Explain everything, even if you don’t think they’re listening. Believe me, they are.
Good luck on your adventures! And reach out if you have questions.
With love and admiration,
Tali
